Domain Transfer Guide
Move your domain registration to HappilyHosted for easier management.
Before You Start
- Domain must be at least 60 days old
- Domain must not be within 60 days of expiry
- You need access to the registrant email
- Obtain the EPP/Auth code from current registrar
Step 1: Unlock Your Domain
- Log in to your current registrar
- Find the domain lock/transfer lock setting
- Disable/unlock the domain
Step 2: Get EPP Code
- Request the EPP/Authorization code
- This is usually emailed to you
- Keep it safe - you'll need it
Step 3: Initiate Transfer
- Go to our domain order page
- Select "Transfer" instead of "Register"
- Enter your domain name
- Enter the EPP code
- Complete payment
Step 4: Approve Transfer
You'll receive an email to approve the transfer. Click the approval link within 5 days.
Transfer Timeline
- Typical: 5-7 days
- Your website stays live throughout the process
Note: Domain transfers usually add 1 year to your registration period.
