Extract Archives in cPanel

Upload a ZIP file and extract it on the server - faster than uploading individual files.

Extracting a ZIP File

1. Upload your .zip file via File Manager
2. Right-click the ZIP file
3. Select Extract
4. Choose the destination folder
5. Click Extract Files

Supported Formats

• .zip
• .gz / .tar.gz
• .bz2 / .tar.bz2

Creating Archives

1. Select files/folders (hold Ctrl for multiple)
2. Right-click
3. Select Compress
4. Choose compression type
5. Click Compress Files

Tips

• Delete the ZIP file after extracting to save space
• Check folder structure - some ZIPs create a parent folder
• For website files, ensure they're in public_html, not a subfolder
